I'm using it again right today.So far 8 companies have emailed me. I am checking their web sites out and keeping notes on things such as mileage pay,home time,benifits,hosehold mileage or long and short practical miles,safety bonuses etc. It takes time to decide,in the past and this never fails,when I pick a company and start with them,some other better company calls me,strange,but true.

 

lessee... two things pop to mind.

1) <ahem> a different trucker board has an area where they list a stack of companies and their basic experience requirements (out of school, 1 year, 3 years, etc) I'm not going to try to post the URL here - I think it's verbotten.

2) one thing to realize when using Monster.com. Carrerbuilder.com, etc. The companies that subscribe to them are inundated with hundreds of applications every day. In my past life, we used a similar site only one time. We wanted to fill one position. We got well over 2000 applications and resumes. 99% of them were from people who were A) completely unqualified for the job and B ), not INTERESTED in the job. They were looking for something else entirely.

So, it's going to take the company a while so sort through the chaff to find the grain.

Further, greater weight was given to prospective vict... er.. employees who approached us directly.

So, my advice would be to research who you want to work for, and apply directly - either via secure web site or via mailed application.
