Hi guys,
I have a Wabasco heater. I installed it myself and it worked great this morning. I went to fire it up and the fuel pump wont click. I pulled the plug off the fuel pump and wasn't getting power there. I replaced the electrical line from the unit to the pump and put all new connectors. Still, the pump wont click. Its flashing a fault code of somewhere between 5 and 7 blinks. Real fast so its hard to count. Any idea what to try next? Im freezing my donkey off without it.
Wabasco wont fire.

Took video of it with iphone and slowed down playback. One long blink followed by 5 short. Dont know if im reading this right....F05 Flame monitor (petrol heater) interrupt or short circuit

Webasco heaters are fickle.... one bad cell in one battery will be enough to keep them from firing. Get your batteries load tested, and make sure all four batteries are wired in a full parallel circuit.
As for the code, double check your wiring, make sure your wires aren't getting blasted by the heat, make sure the wiring in the unit is clear of the fan motor, make sure you didn't damage the glow pin installing it. I'll take a look at the manual tomorrow at work to see what the manufacturer's reccomendations are. -
Thanks for the reply. Batts are providing a constant 13+ volts. (started at 14.4 when i shut truck off) They are pretty new and should be fine. Ive had um down to 11 before and the wabasco ran fine. I'll get um load tested next week tho to be sure. They are wired in parallel. Wireing outside of unit is not near output or input. (not getting blasted) Fan comes on just fine so i dont think thats the problem. As for glow pin....I never installed a glow pin. Mine came with that. How do i check that?

Your code is F01 "No start after two attempts no flame formation". I get this when batteries get weaker
-
how do you get f01 from 5 blinks. is the code the pulse beteen the 5 blinks? If the pump isnt pumping fuel, that would be the cause of the no start.
-
Well, if you replaced all the wireing to the pump and have power to the pump and it still isn't 'clicking' then the pump is hooped I would think.

According to my manual 5 blinks are separation blinks between codes. So it means you got one code F01.

does the unit smoke real bad or was it smoking real bad before the problem, could just be a fuse at the battery, mine corroded right at the connector and died, they replaced a small section and fired right up .If it is smoking real bad change out the glow pin screen and should run fine . These units do not like bio- fuel at all. Got a heavy does and had the unit serviced twice in a month.

How hard is it to install a wabasco on your own? What did you pay for your unit?
