Road Rage

I've tap on the brakes grossing 100,000# with no problem. You seemed to take your MISTAKE not seriously. As I see it, YOU have alot to learn. Hope it doesnt come at someone elses expense.

road rage is there daily, this is the first time you experienced any kind of road rage? I get it often but mostly because people get mad im slowing them down. I think the best one I dealt with was when I was passing a couple slow trucks on the 99 where you have 2 lanes and some douche in a convertible flew up behind me and started flashing his lights nonstop and blowing his horn then when I got over after passing the trucks he fly's past me showing his iq on one finger. Dont know what he expected me to do, slam into a rig next to me or what, I was even bobtailed so its not like he even waited that long.

I get the high beams often but normally the rage isnt extreme for me.

 

You yielded to the merging traffic that should have been yielding to you. It is their responsibility to adjust their speed accordingly in order to merge. If I have adequate space to change lanes, then I will as a common courtesy. If not, then it is not my responsibility. Uneeded lane changes are not safe. They teach this in the defensive driving "Smith System". Have you taken defensive driving? I think you could have avoided this entire situation, and not be asking this question. Try things differently next time and see what happens.

 

Why not? On ramps are visible in enough time to do so no matter what your weight is. How do you think the infinite amount of drivers handle this same situation everyday? You think we just all cut people off all day long? Sounds like you were the one with the road rage haha.

This entire post just shocks me--The entire situation was totally and completely avoidable--Boys and girls--you may not like to hear this--BUT--if you are going to throw the term PROFESSIONAL driver around like so many of you do--then act and respond like one--this is a situation every one of us encounters dozens of time EVERY DAY--w/out incident--and I dont care what your CDL school/trainer/mommy says about who is to yield to who--the only one in control in this situation is YOU--pay attention--you know the ramps there--you KNOW the 4 wheelers are not going to pay attention--you know the left lane is full and YOU cant get in it--back out of it--let them out--continue your journey--problem solved no wreck/no road rage--no ISSUE.....
Try and justify your actions all you want--but the whole thing is absurd...learn from this..pay attention...and accept the limitations that are inherent in the size of vehicle--YOU are driving...

 

I never slow down or merge for a 4 Wheeler.. They have to yield to the traffic not me. How many times have you merged for a car then they wanna sit there right beside you and not let you back over. I will for a truck nothing else. I see it everyday cars merging slow onto the road and not paying any attention whatsoever. So they can either slow down or ride shoulder .

 

Not that I do not understand your point--but I find this attitude MUCH too prevalent in newer drivers--and I assure you if you want to spend any real amount of time--making a living driving--it WILL bite you in the ###--you may not like it--but you need to accept it----the key is to AVOID problems--and YOU always have that control--and the one time--they do not ride down the shoulder--or lose control due to(whatever)the consequences WILL be tragic...and like it or don't weather you are found at fault or not--(and you probably will be)in today's litigious society--the civil lawyer is gonna make you wish you did yield....shame but true

 

I agree with you 100% if I can merge I will but most of the time you can't in major cities. Sometimes you can't slow down enough either.

 

This thread shows me we have a long way to go in this industry to have professional drivers. Everyone who is thinking that the 4 wheeler is the enemy are just steering wheel holders and nothing more.
