Would be almost impossible to cool or heat with all those windows. How would you even keep them defrosted in the winter? Jet dryer that would blow the driver out the back of the "POD" !!!!

I'd like to drive it. It's not likely to see production but you can bet your ### that certain features will make their way into trucks in the future. That's why prototypes are awesome. Just bits and pieces see production but they make the trucks that much better.

The cost is coming down and currently $10-15 per pound where it needs to be around $5 per pound to be used for mass market vehicles. This is one of the exploding areas of research worldwide though with many new products/technologies coming out as we speak so its only a matter of time before its economically viable.

Turbines are more efficient than pistons...by a long shot. But not long enough to offset the higher costs........For you youngsters Chrysler produced a turbine car in the 50's......Leno has one in his collection.

That's where most of your power comes from too. Generate steam ( Nuclear, coal, gas ) to spin a turbine pulling a generator.

    Cool stuff, thanks....

The keyword in this story is "concept". Which typically means we will never see it produced. They just found a good way to waste money by building the prototype. That is all they wanted to do anyway.

Let's see them open the door and stand on the fender to back up.
It's clear a woman designed it.
