Just to update that, The last company I saw with a "hiring cdl" on 158 is Santa Rosa, it's past the Texaco on the left and IS the last company til Rodger's, which is as I said almost in Garden City. But there's alot with signs up still.

First off - I want to say thanks to Aireal and everyone else that replied to this thread.
I spent two days in West Texas, had multiple interviews and received several offers. Now I'm just waiting on the background checks to clear and I will be going to work.

I will repeat what others have already said - If you want to work in the oilfield, then you need to drive to West Texas and get in front of the hiring managers. The oil companies receive hundreds of phone calls a week from dreamers and time-wasters. When you go there in person and tell them that you're ready to work, they get serious real quick.

    Thanks again

stay away from that place, rogers requires 3 years, atleast that's what they say, stick with the big companies first, nabors. key. basic, be careful,, there are a lot of bad companies out here get on with a big one, and see where you think is better from there

I know nabors in big spring is hiring, they NEED drivers, they do train, and it is a good company

I've been talking to Nabors.....how is the housing situation in Big Spring?
i just need something for a few months until I get my RV fixed.

Does Nabors have man camps or offer a housing allowance?

There are RVs for rent in town. Check odessa.craigslist.org (search big spring in housing) and bigspringherald.com
