I work retail here in Wichita KS.
A pack of cigarettes can range from $3.95 a pack to $6.75 a pack. A carton of cigarettes can range from $37.50 a carton to $65.50 a carton. From what I understand, the costs are much higher in various other parts of the U.S.A..
I have customers who are on oxygen machines still buying both packs and cartons of cigarettes. From what I can see, it is an extremely addictive habit, SADLY and UNFORTUNATELY, becoming a very deadly habit.
Good luck to you on both your truck driving career and your health! -
Why does everyone always want to yry to get people to quit. If they enjoy smoking nothing you say or do will make a person stop. All you need to do is answer the question that was asked not butt into and try to force your thoughts onto them.
iDukeSilver, TequilaSunrise, Chinatown and 1 other person Thank this. -
What a wonderful habit. Tell me, when it's time to change your filters, how do you go about it?
-
If I remember correctly they do. When I trained with them I asked for a non smoker and I got a non smoker.

That being said, I wonder just how long it will be before trucking companies will refuse to hire drivers who smoke. There are a lot of places in other types of jobs that have a "NO SMOKING" policy written in stone. -
Don't worry about finding a smoking trainer at Swift. They all smoke a Swift. No joke.
You need to ask how you will be able to afford smokes while working at Swift. Once again, no joke!TequilaSunrise and Chinatown Thank this. -

bottomdumpin, dunchues, Big Don and 1 other person Thank this.

With Swift you are given two choices.
1. Male or female.
2. Smoking or non-smoking.
They will try their best to match you up, but no promises either way unless you are willing to wait for the right person.
