Well I got a quick question. When I first started driving I had 3 backing accidents in my first 6 months all very minor. Less then $10,000 for all three, but none the less they are accidents. I just got another one because I bumped the back of another trailer with the bump stops of my trailer backing into a space at a truck stop. I told my recruiter today about the recent one and was told that wouldn't be a problem when they call my current company for verification. I didn't put the other three on my app with the big orange because they weren't on my DAC,DMV at all. So my question is what can my current employer disclose to a potential employer. I know with other industries the only info a employer can disclose is dates of employment, and if you are eligible for rehire. Any help would be appreciated.

I believe they can only say if they'd hire you again or not. No specifics.
miynis63 Thanks this. -
You were backing into a space at a truck stop. . You nudged the trailer that You were backing up to. . No damage, no scrapes.. nothing dented. . No broken lights. .
And you reported it? Are you trying to get fired?
I've had trucks bump me so hard that I was almost thrown out of the bunk. .I had one back to me while I was sitting in the driver seat and as he was stopping his foot slipped off the clutch. .I thought I had whip lash. .
No damage other than the drivers ego while I chewed his hind end in the middle of the parking lot, at the back of our trailers.
Don't report that crap. . You're not doing yourself any favors.UTurn1, BobcatVolvo, tow614 and 2 others Thank this. -
Like I posted on your other thread about this 3 backing accidents in 6 months. You too lazy to get out and see what's behind you??
Not for rehire would be my answer.. -
$10000 in damage seems to be pretty significant damage to trailers
tow614 Thanks this. -
Well in another thread the poster said it was only 7500 in damages for 3 backing accidents..
Like it was no big deal to them..
Me I would not hire said driver. Well steering wheel holder.
I have made mistakes yes, but 3 in 6 months. No.And all backing -
No the other driver called in and reported it. I've been bumped and no damage no problem is how I see it.

Sorry if I misled you the first 3 I hit trucks with my trailer. All of them were in my first six months of driving and the dollar amount was less the. 7500 in damages for all three. I've been almost 2years. This last one being called an accident is what I don't agree with. I think we all have had our trailer bumped from behind and as long as there is no damage we just let it go. I guess I bumped the wrong driver.

No got out and looked every time. It just took me sometime to understand how to pivot the trailer to go where I needed it, and I pick my spots much better now.if I feel like I need to get out and look now more the. Twice I pick another spot to back into.
