I've heard a lot about these twin stick shifters from old timers, but had never seen one in action til I found this video. Mr. David here looks like he knows what he's doing, but I gotta be honest it still looks like a big PITA to me ! kind of neat though.

We have two twin sticks on the farm a 5+4 and a 5+3. I'm not good at shifting them but I can do it.

Its fun to watch videos of guys with screaming Detroit's and twin sticks.

in 1971 i bought a brand new pete conv. 1693ta cat,5X4, no nothing options because there was none. payed 31,000 and short change for it,you cant even buy a pickup for that now. my truck payment was 300.00 a month and trl was 175.00 a month. at that time my cost per mile was about 64-68 cents a mile, and my cents per mile was about 120-155. and at that time you could make a pretty good living in trucking. that is why these young truckers signing leases and buying trucks with big payments scare me to death any they are the ones making the payments. trucking was harder back then but really enjoyed it up until about the middle 80s. be safe out there
