Ex-trucker Don is ANYTHING BUT always right. It would appear that neither of us want to see this thread closed over bickering.

You should go up to him and say " since I need more training I believe we all could use some more training especially in alcohol use". The just tell him you're all in for training is he????

Well now I got a call from my terminal manager and the only thing they said I could have done differently is saying something right after it happened. They are very serious about this and want to see if they can help him get the help he needs. I really hope he does.

That sounds great, but I'd keep my head down, mouth shut and resume updated. Those who violate rules don't much care for those who report them... and we all violate some rules.

    Glad to hear it.

Yeah, saying something sooner is nice in theory, but in practice...You were the new kid on the block, and most of us have to check our emotions, engage brain, before we open our mouth. May good fortune continue to come your way.

    Leftnut and HotH2o Thank this.

You really should not call that man 'garbage' alcoholism is a diseases like diabetes or heart diseases. Buy your logic all the 350 lb purple ankle drivers just waiting to go into diabetic shock or stroke out behind to wheel are 'garbage too.

Yeah I don't think the man is garbage but yeah we do not need an active alcoholic on the road killing a family.

    Big Don Thanks this.

Thought you might like to know...our company sent out a memo just this morning on what to do in this situation---TELL.

Whether coincidence or your story has made the rounds of the grapevine, thanks for posting your experience.

BTW---memo also stated that the ones who have a problem with substances should come forward and they would be helped.

    Big Don Thanks this.
