It's light but takes up about 1/3 of the deck. Figured at a 1/3 of full rate it's coming up at 75% of the going rate.

Figured as a partial it's coming up at 50-60% of the going rate.

You've got some good money on the deck already but you've got the room and the load is close by and going to the same area you're going to already. It is ready to load when you get there.

    What do you say?

Sounds reasonable, so long as it comes off in a timely manner and nobody tries to jerk you around on it but if you don't load something else quick or along the way (THAT FITS) and you have to run with it to make appointment time, it may not be such a good deal. Partials can be good money if 2 or more fall into place right from the start, otherwise they can quickly become a PITA.

Is there other pieces you can fit on with it? Make sure you figure total miles to all your pieces, they add up quickly if you start running out of route, but yes, money to bbe made with partials

Yes total miles with all pieces and delivery times are key. You can have as many OOR miles as loaded if you're not careful.

Partials are strange creatures, sometimes 4 foot of.deck will pay as much as 20 ft which pays nothung, but together they make sense

I only play the partial game when I have a small piece on paying full rate. Then it's easy to add on. Lately everything I've been hauling is exclusive use though, and I get 60-70% of my annual revenue from this agent, so sneaking around isn't worth the risk.

I've hauled some partials for less than what they should have paid, I just figure break even on partials is $2.50 for any miles out of route plus $200 for two additional stops. If it pays that and also adds significantly to my mileage pay on the original load without slowing me down it's hard to pass them up.
