My husband recently started going to school with Interstate trucking. Their ad says "paid every week - $400 every week for 5 weeks and $600 every week for 5 weeks." let me just say, the freaking lie. My husband just came home and apparently the school isn't going to pay them, at least for two weeks. No one showed up to class but my husband so instead of taking the time to teach him, like they're supposed to do they send him home. We were counting on that money to help with bills but apparently they have a stick up their butt, they like to advertise falsely and not provide training to recruits. Looking to find a new school for him because they are ridiculous.
Interstate is ridiculous

Most people don't get paid for cdl training they have to pay for it. I would rather get paid nothing than have to pay for it.
But it is unfortunate that you were lied to. Most recruiters don't tell anything close to the truth so what they say shouldn't be counted on.
To a trucking company/school teaching only one student would have more costs than rewards so they would rather wait til there are more students so they can maximize their success/profits. I'm not necessarily defending them but I wouldn't pay 10 instructors to train 1 student.
I think you will be hard pressed to find a company that pays you during cdl training, but if others know of some, post it so they have somewhere to start looking because I can't think of one.mje Thanks this. -
Something don't sound right you sure they didn't mean after he finished school also a lot of company's are 2 weeks behind on pay like mine what I turn in today don't get payed untill 2 weeks I hate to hear that I know counting on that money to get by hope they didn't pull a fast one

Almost everything in this industry is false advertisement. Take that into consideration.

I just don't believe that.Everything in this industry is honest.
truckon, NJKatwoman and MidwestResident Thank this. -
Can you clarify something? are you talking about Interstate distributors the Trucking company or are you talking about Interstate trucking school? I didn't know that Interstate distributors took students and had their own school other than Military to driving.

Patty don't pull your Shenanigans on this thread. Only honest thing in trucking is K&B transportation. They do you right and guarantee you the miles.
truckon, Balakov100 and mje Thank this. -
Where is the school located at? I'm going to interstate truck driving school in MN and they do not advertise that they pay you. The only ads I have seen like that are from truck company's. We also had class today no one was sent home. Hope things work out for you and your husband good luck

we are located in tacoma, wa. they placed ads at the local worksource that says just as i posted. they do class at a technical college. it's interstate that is advertising it, not the school. so far he started monday and they've only attended 1 day of class, the rest of the days they were told to go home because of rain and because no one felt like showing.
mje Thanks this. -
Okay, Interstate doesn't have anything about accepting students on their website. (1 year experience required). Maybe they'll only take students from Washington? They must be pretty desperate out there though to pay you while in school. If they did that in WI I'd probably be interested but I'm not sure if they have much over here for driving opportunities.
mje Thanks this.
