I ran into this problem when I hired someone in my office I said don't book any load that pays less than cost ($1.67 at the time) I was at the office one day when a driver dropped and called said I need a load she called on a load told her about it and asked "what can you do it for" she says $1.67/mi I was like WTF!!!!
What ever your target rate is they shoot for that and nothing more....been there seen it first hand. Your better off doing it yourself laptop printer scanner and myfax is all you need.rollin coal and Cetane+ Thank this. -

If you open a dispatch service do you need your broker license?
-
No, I don't think that you do, as long as you are not soliciting freight from shippers.
-
How can you get a load for someone than and dispatch them to load and deliver it?
-
say what???
dispatchers do it all day long. -
Because you are an employee of the carrier that is booking the load. It works basically as if that dispatcher is a secretary in your office calling for loads.281ric Thanks this.

A third party dispatcher gets all of their freight from brokers. A third party dispatcher is just another set of hands in the cookie jar.
-
So technically it is double brokering? You get a load from broker and take a percentage off giving it to some random owner operator?
