That is some straight up dirty business on the DM's part! What's so difficult about being honest. I mean I know they are under pressure in their own right, but at the expense of trying to force someone out in a dangerous situation......

AR - 70 miles in 4.2 hrs. I'd rather sit.
Raiderfanatic Thanks this. -
I don't know how many hot loads it takes today to learn they're often only hot until they arrive, then it takes 4 hours to get a door and another 4 to unload.Sly Fox Thanks this.

Therebwere a lot of us stuck in Memphis from Sunday thru Weddnesday night. I-40 was a single lane for the first 40 miles heading west. I sat all day Tuesday. Everytine I was about ready to release the brakes report of another accident came down. The road was completely shut down twice on Tuesday. When I left on Wednesday there were MILES of trucks parked on the shoulder who had run out off hours waiting to get through. There was no place to park in LR.
I'm not going to work for 6 excruciating hours for $20. Also had I left out on Tuesday I still would have been late as my 11/14/70 would have been screwed. -
Got to west Memphis at noon Monday left out at 5 am Thursday .
40 was clear as a bell only slow down was Little Rock traffic !!
I will not sit on the road or drive less than 35 if I can find a place to wait it out .
Just watching the stupidity in the truck stop was enough to keep me off the road !!
The petro was a mess just trying to get out !!!Raiderfanatic and Dinomite Thank this. -
Wish I had a nickel for every time I read, "no load is that important" on this site.

That's the difference between a truck driver and a steering wheel holder. A truck driver isn't going in the ditch.

Although I agree only drive to your comfort level, some of ya'lls comfort level is way too high, and some of ya way too low. It's winter, its gets nasty. Slow down, keep space around you, and pay complete attention to the road. Making sure you're not driving on racing slicks is another good tip. I'll pull over when visibility is reduced to #### near nothing, or if I know I'm heading into traffic in bad conditions.
then again..... nevermind, stay in the parking lot. last thing I need to compound the snow and ice is scared drivers around me.Working Class Patriot and HotH2o Thank this.
