Anyone know of a good book that explains truck engines and the other mechanical/electronic systems in detail? I'm not looking for something that was written for a mechanic, just something that will give me more than a basic understanding.

I would recommend reading a lot of the info here on this site about engines. I learned a lot from the ECM tuning stuff here, even though I have boxes of books from Cummins and cat.

There isn't really a good book to explain a lot of this new stuff, diesel is diesel but throw the electronics into an engine and then it gets to be a mystery.

YouTube might be a good place to learn about engines. You can find a video on just about anything there.
