Thanks for the heads-up. Probably not going to do anything right away as mentioned in an earlier post...I plan to stay the course until at least October 20th, so I have a solid 2 years of experience at one company, looks better on the resume.

    joseph1135 Thanks this.

Had the shop set the "governors" @ 85 on home time. Running @ 78700 lbs or so in I40 so haven't got to stretch it's legs yet.

May stop in Effingham and see what they can do to turn the power up......

Made it to the Love's in Newton, IA, 720 miles. Perfect road conditions, decent weather, blah blah blah. I'm tired. Good night.

Whole dumb thing about is this...if they would've given you those kinds of loads for the most part, you wouldn't have had to put in your notice...like you stated...it's too late for the good loads now, you had your chance & you blew it is what I would've told them.

I just found your guys' new home and see we have the measuring stick out. :biggrin_25525:

I have been hanging around Anchorage for the last couple days. I have done some local work and got my 36hr reset in as well. It sure is fun to do local pickups and swapping trailers in a 389 with a 260" wheelbase. I will pick up a load of fish to take South to Seattle this afternoon.

I have been wearing my Merry Maid bonnet this morning and spent a couple hours cleaning at the terminal. Btw I would never drive more than 600mls a day anything more seems dangerous.

Looks like everybody is starting to have fun again out there. That will cut the posts down by 95% for sure. :biggrin_25511:

zmpart, tow614, The Challenger and 2 others Thank this.

I've been having fun again for over a year....

miles per 11 hour shift is load dependent:

    600 to 650 is comfortable
    675 takes some focus
700 requires a cash incentive to cover excess fuel consumption.

That being said Bakersfield to Gallup to OKC with over an hour left on today's 11. 1332 miles

Cummins feels slow in the hills compared to the Cat

joseph1135 and The Challenger Thank this.

In Chamberlain, South Dakota, run just around 700. Woke up in Newton, met my swap in Davenport and now have about 530 to Billings. What a difference from GTI to coming back over here. I can run the way I like and not have 47 people and a computer tell me I'm wrong. Yes Gordon Trucking, you can run over 2100 miles in 3 days. On an E-Log.

Refer is one of the few segments where long haul still happens regularly. The 1200+ miles per load average etc. Heck, I made good money when I was at Central, been trying to get close to it again ever since, but need home time too much, so have not gotten close since I left. better company's in many other ways, but less cash for me.

I left Heartland also now, but in a daycab. First weeks pay my net was pay was almost 1000. And home every day. It is 6 days a week work, but Saturdays are shorter, and 2 days a week we stay in close, so not late days.
Company is more anal on safety and inspections than any I have ever seen. I would post a thread on them, but not worth it. They have a total of 44 drivers in the company, and I am the first driver they have taken on in a year.
The negative is that it is ALLOT of physical work. Which after all the weight I gained at Heartland, will be helpful to my health. Every muscle in my body hurts though from unloading furniture. Most of the time it is just taking it down so they can run it out, other stores they don't have docks or ramps, so I have to tailgate the load. But at least I know I can be home every day and make over 50k a year in Florida.
