I have been with TMC for 4 years and I haven't heard anything about dash cams being installed. I think its bs. Cant answer you questions about NC but you do take your truck and trailer home with you

Okay, I'm sipping the cool-aid! BlackBetty91378 think you could do a on going log of your experience with TMC. I've hauled everything you can imagine on a flatbed, but from what I've HEARD they make as much as I do running on elogs. And running less miles. I'd be very interested in what you have to say.

Ok first let me say that I was hired by TMC right out of school and it is the only trucking job I have ever had. So maybe some of the things more experienced truckers would find to be unacceptable are things that I find to be normal.

I started in June of 2010 on the line haul division. I live in Louisiana and mostly would run Texas Oklahoma Arkansas and Missouri and would get home almost every weekend usually by 5 or 6 pm on Friday. Every now and then I would have to take one for the team and stay out for a weekend but mostly I would get home.

I am currently on the boat division and hometime is a little different. I get home every 3 weeks or so. Sometimes less sometimes more. Average is about 3 weeks.

I have no complaints with fleet managers safety directors or any other office people I have had to deal with. I have talked to other drivers who have had worse luck in that department but I have had it good as far as that goes.

There are a lot of rules here and you are expected to follow them if you want to stay here. No big deal. All companies have rules. The stay off the grass rule is real. Again no big deal. How hard is it to stay off grass right? The main reason for it is to see if you can follow directions. If you can't follow a rule as simple as that what would make them think you could follow rules at shippers/receivers? You are expected to keep the truck clean. The policy on washes is every 2 weeks rain or shine. And when you come in for service the truck is to be as clean on the inside as it was when you got it. That means showroom clean. If it isn't you will not get fired as long as you don't have corn growing in the sleeper. They will give you a list of what needs to be done and put you out of service until it is taken care of. If it is really bad you lose a small amount of pay for a month. (1/2 cent a mile if you are on mileage. not sure for percentage)

TMC switched to elogs about a year and a half after I started. I don't have an issue with them. I ran legal on paper logs so my pay hasn't been affected. If anything I seem to be more efficient with the time I have since switching.

Its Sunday morning here and I am lazing around the house with the wife and my brain isn't working to well hehe. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask. I just can't think of anything else to say right now

The word on the radio is their phasing out the long hood 379's and replacing them with the shorthood 388's instead of 389's, any truth to that?

    I take it you run a 579 or a T800?

Do you know if their taking anymore O/O or how that system works?

They are phasing out all 379s. They did buy a few new 388s. I dont know how many. I have a 379 shortnose. They have phased out all of the KWs. Pretty soon most everyone will be in a 579.

They have a number ov O/Os and Im sure they are willing to hire more. I dont know much about that tho.

Some trucks, very limited, have had forward and rearward looking cameras installed on a trail basis. Our trucks have a "critical event" logging system, hard brake, fast corner etc....although recording all the time the only time any video is viewable is if a critical event is recorded the system saves 15 seconds before and 15 seconds after. Safety has to go online, log in to view the video. Blackbeauty I have talked about this with Drew and Terry, it is out there.

Myself I have my own forward looking camera that records 10 minute loops. I think it is a smart thing to have. I do have some big brother reservations about a inward looking one but hey if I'm not breaking the law who give a crap?

You are correct sir. Since my last post I have seen a truck with a 2 way camera in it. In fact it was my old truck 91378. I understand they are putting them in for inexperienced drivers to start out in. Heard that from another driver so that might not be the case but they are putting them in.
