When looking for a sand trailer, what are some of the things to look for? I here top air, keep around 1040 cf, aluminum not steel. used trailers are only about 25,000 less than new trailers and they average 20years old. New vss old what would you recommend and why?

Go new if you can. Anything you find used that's in decent shape will be close to a new price. Make sure whatever you buy has steel tees and pipes on the bottom. Adds weight, but aluminum wears out rather quickly with sand.

I can't speak for Frac Sand but I have three cement Macs. They have worked very well for me so far. The first two are about a 1.5 years old and the third is coming up on a year. No issues so far with the trailers, the stock tires aren't the best (general S371, get a weird wear pattern in them). They are light and the way they enclose the frame helps with the aerodynamics and also gives you a storage locker which is helpful especially with a day cab. I don't know if they are spec'd differently for frac sand (I do know they do steel piping) but it is a lower clearance trailer so you will have to look at what type of terrain you are going over as the discharge pipe will be closer to the ground than on some other models out there. Its not on their website yet but they do have a more aerodynamic trailer as well. It is more of an oval shape. which would further cut down on drag.
