I am looking into buying a glider myself. I spoke with a salesman at Fitzgeralds and asked if the electronics would allow for a Qualcom to work in one. He wasn't sure, said he had never been asked about it. Does anyone know if this would work? I am looking to get a pre-egr engine but I need to be able to have a Qualcom work in it.
bigred81 Thanks this. -
Previous Company I worked for had a bunch of
Fitzgerald Coronados with the Detroits.
We ran ELogs with no problems I know offoicu812 Thanks this. -
Egr has nothing to do with using a Qualcomm unit.poppapump1332 Thanks this.

If it has a ECM you can plug it in.
oicu812 Thanks this. -
I wasn't very clear with my question. I wondered if the ecm that would be in one of those engines would allow for a Qualcom.
Thanks for the replies, helps a bunch. -
Milke3Fan, my question is what color was your Glider when you originally purchased it, before you had it painted? I can't tell if it has more white paint or blue paint on it! Lol. And how has it been operating since you last posted? It is a beaut, for sure!! Has it been very reliable? What about the potential metal fatigue that someone mentioned..., any problems there? Has your excellent mpg increased or decreased? How many miles do you have on it now? Are you still convinced that a Glider is the way to go? Would you do it again if you had to? And how about that flat top, is there enough room to exist in it comfortably several nights at a time? Alot of questions, I know! Thanks for your response!Last edited: Jul 30, 2015

Several years back every OEM were screaming and crying about counterfeit parts coming from China. I remember the advertisements in the truck magazines warning against buying these parts. Now you just don't hear much about it. WHY? Because most OEMs are now sourcing their own parts from China! It's always been, and always will be about the dollar. Now those same Chinese made parts are fine, the OEMs are slapping their names and logos on the boxes, and pocketing the difference. Remember every IPhone is made in China, you never hear about inferior iPhones. The precision is legendary. I wish it wasn't that way, but when I hear about inferior engine parts, I wonder who's saying what. Unless you're a machinist with a whole slew of measurement tools, I think you'd be hard pressed to call a given part "inferior", by just looking at it.
blessedman Thanks this.
