I roll it easy, maybe 3 mph and pull the red knob to set the trailer brakes only, and it rocks back and forth and usually settles to the middle. Must do this in a straight line.

We have air slides, too, but when it's slippery you can usually slide one with a lever while you are scratching your head trying to figure out how to move from a dead stop with not enough traction. Helps if the tandems are back and the drives are heavy, but often they load heavy on the tail with the tandems slid up.

I always set them back to near the other states mark when unhooking an MT at the yard. Much easier to shorten too long when slippery than lengthen too short.

Turn the trailer around 180 degrees, then go and pull. Rocking back and forth doesn't always help, but a pivot will do you wonder.

Hook up to it and do a couple of turns around a parking lot. Both directions. Penetrating oil helps. Bungee that lever up. Just don't slide it a lot or you'll snap your bungee.

Bungee + gentle rocking works well. Rarely I'll have a tweeked tandem where the lefthandside pins are in the middle and the righthandside pins are against an edge. In those cases angle the trailer in the appropriate direction before setting the brakes and rocking. This also helps when you pull a trailer that crab walks down the highway.

If the trailer is tracking to the left, the left side is farther to the rear than the right side. To even it out, come to a stop as if you're partway through a left turn, set the trailer brakes, crank the steering wheel full left, & gently apply rearward pressure. This will bring the left side more towards the front than the right side.

If it is your own trailer, you probably want to replace the slider guides and have it aligned, but for company trailers its a quick & dirty trick.

Turning circles (forwards) to the right would accomplish the same thing to a smaller degree.

Hello... You should always carry P.B. Blaster in your dog box. This sprays out about 6 ft. so make sure you keep face/eyes away and keep the cap on when you are not using it. Spray the pins, spray the track that the tandems slide on, spray the hole where the hinge and arm connect. Yes, also whack it with a hammer. If the arm will not stay out, I have jammed the hammer there to hold it out. Usually in five to ten minutes, the P.B. Blaster has loosened the rust. It's like WD on steroids! Much stronger. Good luck. Tell your company to get the air valve kind!
