What can we do?

Get the word out!! Don't make us the bad guys in all this. Most of us just want to earn a decent living. We have a large investment in our trucks and are getting no return. Refer people to this forum and the others for the truth about our situation.

i'm a non trucker...but i have family members that do...

i don't think the truckers will come out as the "bad guy" in this...
EVERYONE is hurting with gas prices the way they are - and think about how much it will get this summer?

 

I am asking for fuel surcharges on all loads- if they don't offer or accept it, I won't run it with our trucks, OR our brokerage. And it only matters if the surcharge is passed on to the brokered trucks.

It's just time that shippers pay more to move their stuff. I came back to trucking about a year ago after a 4 year hiatus and was surprised that the same loads from the same places were hauling for the same rates...

Can't happen anymore- It just can't.

I think it would be interesting to know what the linehaul rates are in Europe, considering their fuel is 2x or more of what ours is. What they do, I have no idea what goes on over there.

 

Pass the word on, tell people about it, contact your newspapers and stations and if there is a convoy planned in your area... JOIN IN ON IT. Cars, SUV's, Pick-ups everyone is welcome to join in any convoy. Thanks SO much for your support!

I'm a non-trucker, I don't even know any truckers. But I sure do understand what you're facing and you all have my full support.

 

My husband got outta trucking years ago, due to not being able to earn a decent living for all the time he was gone. I cannot imagine how trying things have gotten since he left but EVERYONE that I have talked to online and IRL supports this 100% and most say "it's about time!". For that matter, I purposely stocked up and wont be driving my 4 wheeler (car) until it's over as a show of SOLIDARITY. It's We The People, right?

 

Heck, I was hoping to use forums like this to find out where
any convoys/gatherings/whatever were going to be! Isn't that
what the intertoobz is for?
