If you research your state, I'm sure there are grants and loan programs available as well. Had you looked into the fed's "guaranteed student loan" program? This is where a bank loans you $$ for job training, and the federal government acts as a co-signer to guarantee you won't default payment. When you fail to pay back the loan, the Feds pay the bank, then the government comes after you to garnish your wages to get their $$ back. This is how college students are funding their expenses. I believe the guaranteed student loan program is applicable to technical training (like truck driving school), as well as trying to get a college degree.
I'm completely stumped...

OK, I have looked into the grant. I understand a lot of thing's but this stuff has me so dumb founded that I feel like I have the IQ of a gold fish.
I sent off an email asking about it but apperently it has to be done through the school if I am understanding correctly. I guess my next choice is just go down to the unemployment office and check with them.
This is what the email said:
Hi,
The grant that I take care of is for CFDA # 20.238 and is for CDLIS Modernization. It is not open to individuals, only to State driver licensing agencies.
