I made the mistake of stopping at the Kansas City Flying J last week. What an abysmal ****hole that place is. PFJ should be embarrassed to have their name on it.
-
The Pilot at exit 4 on 465 in Indy. Stopped there for my 30 min. break yesterday. Hard to get in and out of, smelled like a urinal despite the fact that the runoff from recent snowmelt should have at least dampened it down a bit. I was there around noon, and the hookers were already chatting up drivers over the cb. "What color's your house, big daddy?" I can only imagine how bad it gets after dark.
James j Thanks this. -
The flying j in Carlisle, PA I 81 XT 52. Too small a hard as hell to have enough room to backup. If not here by 7 pm forget it you won't get a decent spot. I use some creative parking here let me tell ya lol!!!!

What about the Broadway J in Pasco, Wa.
-
Definitely the Key near Houston... Stayed there once, next time I was home I grabbed my Sig .45.....

T/A in Downtown Nashville... I guess the place was WAY worse back before my time. My trainer said that the city made them put the fence up to keep the criminals in!

You should hit up Joe's Junction on Harding St. I could sit there all day and people watch. -
Worst layout goes to Memphis Indiana pilot.
Lined up in the road.
Pumps all on an incline.
Now..... flip that line around to the road... wouldn't be bad. -
I'm not old enough to have been there done that but my Dad used to haul all the time for those guys. He drove one of my uncle's trucks that was leased to Stoellers out of Spirit Lake, IA. Anyway, the first time he went to NYC my uncle told him to go to Rubes and they would have a load back to OH for him. My pops stopped somewhere on the turnpike either in PA or NJ and fueled up and went to Rubes after he unloaded. When he got his load from them they told him to go fill up and they'd take the fuel out of the load pay. When he told them he already had fueled he said he didn't think he was going to get out of there alive! He also has some great stories about hauling for Rube where they would be told to just back into the dock, stay in the truck, and they would even close the trailer doors for you. Same deal on the other end. This was back in the 70's but who knows if it was Jimmy Hoffa back in the trailer or who knows what!LilRedRidingHood and bulldog522002 Thank this.
