Do not buy the cheap blue furniture blankets they sell at Tarpstop. They tear like a piece of toilet paper and you have to fold them several times for them to be much good over sharp edges.
I picked up some good ones at Iowa80 that were more expensive but still cheap tarp insurance. They cost me $90 for a pack of six if I remember correctly. Does anyone know of a less expensive source for quality blankets like these?

I just bought a dozen of the good ones. All of them were clean and perfect; only used the once. - $3 each. Got them on Craigslist - seems like there are always a bunch for sale.

I also got my moving blankets on craigslist used but in great condition.
At mercer, they sell the drivers Felt by the foot x 12' wide pretty cheap to put under the tarps. I haven't tried it because I got the moving blankets. The felt doesn't slide off while adjusting the tarp like moving blankets but not as thick either. -

I got my felt pads at an aluminum place, I don't use them on anything oily, but they do work great.
