Yea. And in Oregon truck drivers are not responsible enough to drive faster than 55 but responsible enough to pump fuel.
Truck drivers should get the fuel pumped for them too.
Were not professional fuel pumpers.
Well, you Guys that drive fueler trucks are.

No question, this is exactly what will happen. We already know the pain and agony of a small herd of 65 mph trucks ,, I can't wait to see huge herds of 65 mph drag races. And it's a given that there will be 20,000 variations of 65mph, no two will be exactly the same.
Restrict them to the right lane? At 65 (or whatever) mph? Hah! I'd love to see this on 294 at 8am. Good luck to any 4 wheelers trying to get into the right lane to exit, or merging from the entrance ramps.
There's that saying, be careful what you wish for. Whoever is wishing for this is in for a real treat.TwinStickPeterbilt and that65 Thank this. -
TTT in tucson still does it. or they did last time i was there. last year.

Were always the bad guy no matter what they will always belly ache about us until they find out how important we are. Their gonna love it when their about to run outta hours on 294 with a light out and a expired med card and all those Stupid trucks are in the right lane running 65 and they can't get to the exit!!!
To get get this post you need to read the one I made earlier on the subject. -
More interesting will be what happens with capacity allready tight and they tighten the screws with elogs and slower trucks.....can u imagine trying to do a cali turn wth your talking eight days instead of five.....yep i,m seing bare shelves and higher prices but on the bright side 4 to 5$ a mile freight might be in the near future
TwinStickPeterbilt Thanks this. -
Right. Most people are oblivious.
Back when I was with my trainer, he complained that rvr's ,towing cars didn't need a cdl yet they were essentially doing the same thing truck drivers are except not commercially.
Every person should be held to exactly the same safety standards. Including random drug screenings and vehicle inspections.TwinStickPeterbilt Thanks this. -
your not going to convince the gooberment how naive they are.
you can thank canada for this regulation. lockridge talked about it couple years back that the gooberment was looking into doing the same thing. -
I am surprised anyone is even remotely concerned about this. It is easy to modify the ECM on most engines so that the speed limiter could be set to, say, 65 mph, but the truck will still do up to 20 mph faster. And no, you do not have to change rear ratios, tire rotations, etc in the ECM. Just some simple changes deep in the ECM and it will do this. Driver rewards feature in most ECM's allows this also. When a carrier or fed plugs in to check, it will always show the speed limiter set at whatever speed they come up with. You just smile like a mule eating burrs and head on down the road. No need to get involved in 65 mph turtle races with anyone!
Derailed, TwinStickPeterbilt, JPenn and 1 other person Thank this. -
So... you think they won't give you a ticket for driving over 5mph? O I know, its set at 65, I didn't know.. tell that to the judge.
