so you shut down at 9.5 or 10hrs, instead of utilizing every minute of your 11 and then finding a place to park
lets mention sitting still for 10 full hours, who needs that?
guys that have decided to dance on the rat wheel have made themselves accustomed to doing what they are told and LIKING IT
some folks dont want to be told what to do, other than get the load there on time, safely
and i dont drive 18 hr days, i drive when i am rested and sleep when i am tired, whenever that occurs and i know my body better than DOT or Uncle Sam -

Does the elog tell you when to go to the restroom to? Just kidding about that, but the ones that say that you have to trip plan don't realize we all do elogs or no. The elogs turn the drivers info solar powered drivers that have to be parked by 4pm. That causes a cluster for everyone.

even in unexpected situations. Defeatist attitude abounds around here.
other than the ease of use and up to the minute logging, elogs aren't much different than paper other than the willingness of paper guys to lie and cheat.
Elog guys can cheat a bit on their logs, just can't fudge the driving. I can say it took 9 minutes to fuel when it took 12 cause I had to wait 3 minutes to pull up to the pump. A couple minutes a week add up, or it's a couple more minutes early I can leave if I'm taking a 30 min break. -
More calls for strike, block the roads. Same stuff, different day. -
These what if's are actually reality for a lot of us. I along with a lot of other drivers have been held up at shippers and receives past our 14 and no you can't take your break here... you must leave the property. What do you do then? You leave, no if's and's or but's about it. It is what it is.

Again you guys ask what ifs like these things aren't experienced everyday by truckers on e-logs.
Plan a 9.5-10 hour drive? You that narrow minded? No ingenuity? You guys have a huge imagination, ingenuity and drive when it comes to faking your logs. Elogs eliminates that so now you can turn your focus to trip planning.
i plan an 11 hour drive. I plan where I'd like to be and have a couple places where I might end up if a problem presents itself. I get delayed, I either speed up or I adjust to one of my backup stops. 11 x speed = distance. Where I start my day + distance = where I start looking in the books for parking.
I'm not sure about some of you, but I can drive safely, check my mirrors, and do the math in my head to adjust my trip plan.
Only time I stop at the 10 hour mark is if I want and can, or there isn't another viable parking spot within one hour down the road. I've had days end at 10:59, more often than not it's with 15-30 min on my clock... And again that's because their isn't another viable parking spot I can reach in that time frame.peterd Thanks this. -
trip planning? so now we have made getting from point a to b a science?
sounds like fun
if i drive 62mph for 8hrs, then stop for 30 min, then driver 62mph for another 2hrs, without a glitch i may make it to the truckstop in time
if anything goes wrong with this perfect plan, i am up the creekSheepDog, Ann Eiffel, jdiesel3406 and 1 other person Thank this.
