Cooley,
You have done a EXCELLENT JOB here explaining situations and giving details. I have been a heavy equipment operator for the past 15 years and recently got my CDL A /HAZMAT/TANKER endorsements. Problem is that last year around this time when I graduated from a 12 wk program the Union called me back to work before I could nail a entry level trucker job. Now 1 year later and laid off since Nov. 2013 it's even harder to find takers. Ironic thing here is I was scheduled to take a Hydro Vac class through my Union but could not make it.
May of 2013 I worked on a 20 mile stretch of county rd in Minot North Dakota and I found the greatest place on earth for work clothes, fire retardants, lights, hats, gloves, you name it and they got it! It was almost too good to be true. Not very often where you find clothes, gidgets and gadgets made in the U.S.A, made right, and priced right, and the customer service is off the HOOK & CHAIN! The place is called; DAKOTA OUTERWEAR CO.
PHONE: 800-252-8455

You will be able to view a portion of their catolog on line, I haven't been to there online store yet because when I was there I would stop and shop with them, look around, and ask questions every chance I got. Warren Brown is the man you want to speak to if he is in when you call, if not here is his email address: warren@dakotaouterwear.com
The team of construction workers I was with were out of Chicago and even they were amazed at the quality of goods, the excellent prices for the high quality caliber of goods. And get this! If you are a big guy or little guy they have a guy on staff/tailor who will take your measurements, and make what you want right there on the premises and the price is right along with what you would normally pay for it. Maybe a few bucks more, but you are very willing to pay it.
They told me they were able to have such excellent prices, service, and gear because the Minot Air Force Base is who really keeps them in business!
I keep his card in my wallet at all times for situations like this when sharing and caring could make a difference in some ones life!
I am new here, today is my first day looking around and thanks for sharing! EVERYBODY! I am looking to get into the oil fields as a driver so I am open to any advice and suggestions.
MustafaVegasman Thanks this. -
