I sincerely hope that this strike is driven home as a strike that protests rates as the main problem. Fuel is a commodity and of we want to believe it works as a commodity traded on the free market (it doesn't but thinking it does makes things simpler) then drivers should accept that fuel is not the problem. That's a problem for market forces.

The problem is the suppression of freight rates. Imagine what joe public will actually think if a truckers strike is successful in lowering fuel rates.

"The truckers got our fuel prices down but why are my tomatoes still so danged expensive? The greedy bastarbs went and pocketed the fuel decrease!"

Perhaps it's too late to make this suggestion...in fact I know it certainly is but maybe I'm just out of the loop and freight rates are in fact the main issue so far as the public face of this strike will be concerned.

Best of luck to all who participate. I wish I had a rig to park so I could hang a banner off it.

    Cheers

I could only wish that the public face of all this had the
benefit of a little better proofreading. Believe me, that goes
    a long way for credibility.
