Biggest Question is how is the orientation for experienced drivers? We can't afford to bog down for 2 weeks of DoT regulation videos, and things like that, and on top of it I think we have to go to Florida for a Target Course also.
Any of you have any experience with USX's Target Dedicated Runs? Me and my team-mate have filled out our apps and are on the way hopefully. We saw an advertisement, and are leaving Con-Way Truckload to come over. It seems like a fairly nice deal all around.
Neither of us have ever delivered to a target store once or twice to the DC in Tyler Texas when we were teaming at Werner. How are the stores to get in an out of (I know Tractor Supply can be a nightmare, as can Michaels). I've also heard that they are putting teams in new Autos, something I'm not terribly thrilled about, do they still do 10/13 speed or are they going all auto again?
And mostly how do you guys like it at USX. Con-Way has been great to us, barring the hiccups you get here and there. The advertisement made it seem like we'd come out a couple hundred more ahead with the benefit of a more consistent schedule. If any of you run this account or know someone that does, your information would be appreciated.
Thanks, and be safe out there.

I can't answer the Target questions. Orientation is only 2 or 3 days. All new trucks are autos. I've been here almost three years. Plan on sticking around. I have no real complaints.
-
Ive heard target is weord about delivery times. Cant be early, DO NOT CALL THEM.

Wife and I team at US Xpress & are happy. You can make money easily doing these dedicated accounts. Orientation is two days now. Don't know how long the Target thing is.
Target loads are dry van & reefer.
2015 and some 2014 are automatics. You can request a 10 speed but it won't be a brand new truck. -
I just spoke to a recruiter today. All new teams will be getting new manual trucks. Not autos. They are switching it back to stick.
Guess we won't be going with usx now. Our school only teaches auto since their other truck broke. Ugh.
-
Recruiters don't know what they are talking about. The company is going automatic.
-
I talked to a rec and all trucks on the target account will be auto
TruckDuo Thanks this. -
Yep. I was told that from someone way up the food chain.
-
Us x got a good deal for starting a program for folks from the us force that cant drive because of leg injurys thats why all the newer trucks are auto thats a good thing they dong if thats the truth just hear say from other companys that done that

Who do you recommend I talk to? The recruiter and "call operator" I spoke with are really rude and can't seem to answer any of my questions. Even the simple ones. I requested a new recruiter and they said no I have to talk to the 1 they assigned me. So I am at the point of almost giving up with usx all together. I feel if this is how the recruiters are I can only imagine how the dispatchers could be. I feel like she puts little effort into her job. Maybe she is new- I don't know.
