You are not allowed to be paid below minimum wage is why they think they can get away with that. They and you both had an agreement to be paid by the mile. The bottom line is they are trying to get around the law forbidding unauthorized deductions from your paycheck. I would call the Dept of Labor and ask them. I'm pretty sure they can't do that. Now if you signed a pre-employment agreement then they can do what they done.

Well, you quit three days out. They paid you what they thought you were worth. They could have told you tp park it and find your own way home. As to missing two check call, how do you forget to call in? Sorry to sa it, but youmay not be cut out for this type work. Your not out here to sight see, your supposed to do your job.

 

Agreed with Buzzard, instead of whining about minimum wage pay, you should be grateful they didn't have you park the truck, find your own way home, then charge you for the tow bill or recovery costs.

There's big money to be had in trucking, but there's also big bills to pay when things go sideways. You got off easy, sir.

labor dept isn't gonna help you. all they can do is enforce the min wage law. you gonna have to take it to small clams court. the company knows what they are doing. they are betting you wont take them to small clams court...

 

sounds to me like just another disillusioned rookie
