Just have your VIN with the motor model and serial number for MB to give you a price.

livestock hauling is alot different, always at least 80-90k 50-75% of the time. Ur missing my point totally...u take ur microblue truck and pull a cattle pot parachute for a week you would drop at least 3-4 mpg i bobtail and haul with 15k in the box id get 8 mpg without blueing

So my point is someone who cant get into a light load/bobtail deal like u have and hauls 80k is not going to get 9-10mpg like u and therefore has to look at whether spending money on blueing is gonna be of much benefit and whether or not they can get a roi.

So in respect to the op...thats why i brought this point up bout u, its great u got what u got but ur the exception not the norm.

A mechanic here in iowa tried selling me on motor micro blueing and his sale pitch on the motor was not mileage it was longevity but his customer with a blued motor at a 100k miles saw no mpg increase and was using oil...go figure

I think the problem I'm having is no one knows what the longevity is on being Microblued. Just trying to decide if it's cost effective or not. Does it help with it being more reliable under operation. I just don't see anybody being able to answer that question just yet. I don't think there is guarantee on the process. I mean I like the idea but need more info.

Your post is all over the place, comparing Dice's truck operation, with your truck operation is pointless, way to different. How do you track your mileage? MB your wheel bearing then come here and tell us the results. More weight equals more friction, more HP required to turn the wheels.

I just had my cat rebuilt and was thinking about going with micro blue, but I haul some weight also and can not find anyone that has a micro blue engine with 800000 miles on it. The process is good for racing but what about all day every day running like we do so much of this newer stuff does not work well in the long run.Now just because Kevin Rutherford says micro blue is great does not make me want to buy it,but he has a lot of clout with people that don't know nothing, and I am not saying I know anything but I am gonna set back and listen for a couple more years and see what happens when these engines get some miles on them.

Check with Pittsburgh Power, I know they have done a lot of dyno testing comparisons of non-MB and MB motors. They will even build you one using MB parts.

Also here is videos of one of the top tractor pulling builders in the country about MB with a demonstration of how it works.

I have about 8,000 miles on my C-15 ACERT that was just rebuilt with MicroBlue coatings. I installed IPD cylinder kits which dropped the compression almost 2 points and had every part that moves coated (bearings, rings, liners, pistons, wrist pins, timing gears/bearings, rocker shafts, valves, and both turbos). I will say that even with 180* thermostats I have noticed the coolant runs colder than it ever has before and doesn't heat up as fast. My normal work consists of refrigerated LTL out of WI to the northeast every week. My outbound usually weighs within 2-3,000 of each other from week to week with a gross right around 79-82,000 lbs. Being a some what dedicated run I fuel up on my way out of WI and in PA or NY at the same stops every week. With all that being said...I was hopping for about 5.9-6.0 MPG right out of the box running 15W-40 dino oil for the first 10K miles. So far the average has been about 5.4 to 5.6. Big factors have been winter fuel, weather, and the thicker than normal oil. Also I think that the coolant temp may be hindering the combustion since the highest I have seen has been about 178-180*. These miles were also ran without the BD tune installed and just a normal CAT 550 HP heavy haul program in the ECM. Currently I am not sure if much more than 0.5 gain will be had with warmer weather, higher combustion temps, summer fuel, and Schaeffer's 9000 series 5W-40 oil that I normally run. Time will tell and I will give a honest report in the future.

BTW, I run MicroBlue wheel bearings in all positions on my truck and trailer. Gained a little MPG (not enough to claim), but did lower hub temps considerably.

Running below 180 the ecm goes into warmup mode and will use more fuel.

That has been my thought the past week. I'm considering two options: winterfront or putting the stock stats back in. Currently I'm leaning towards the winterfront due to normally running a high HP tune and wanting lower temps to try stopping cylinder head cracks that CATs are known for.

I just don't see enough data justifying the real need to Microblue the engine. I can't find anybody with over 30000 or more miles on this technology. Maybe later in time there will be some substantial proof presented. Stay safe all. Thanks for all the responses.
