I am thankful that I have choices but I have also worked hard to keep my record clean so that I always would have choices. This is one reason I was having trouble deciding because I have always tried to stay away from those type of companies that even use DAC from the start. I have only worked for 1 company that even used DAC and they were one of the ones I was considering going back to because they did me right before. The other one I had a feeling would either do the same type of thing that happened to your husband or their poor safety rating would cause me to lose my perfect record because of their negligence. I have spent my career making sure I kept my record clean so I could avoid this type of issue. Have you tried to rebuttle the comments on the DAC? You can dispute it and if the company doesn't respond they will remove it from his DAC report. I wish you and him the best of luck.

I would look for a smaller company that does not make their hiring decisions based on a DAC report. We still interview drivers. If your husband has a bad attitude, it will probably still show through and keep him from getting a job. If the reports are unfounded, as you indicate, an experienced driver should not have a problem. It depends how "strong minded" he is.

Look on this website on the home page, there is something on the left side about dac. Just start clicking on some of the links and you will find some help i believe

Can anyone offer a suggestion as to who to apply to for a long-haul trucking company. Preferably a company that will hire you even though your DAC report is not very good?

We actually did dispute this, but the companies refused to omit their remarks. I did file a rebuttal which they put at the bottom of the report. So far I don't believe anyone actually has looked at it. They just hear DAC report and say "SORRY".

So, I'm going to ask the question everyone else is itching to ask: what is it that's so horrible on his DAC that didn't involve a citation or accident of any kind? I mean, short of abandonment of equipment or theft of a load, I can't think what would be so awful that nobody will look at him.

I had a friend with three accidents (two majors) two overweight tickets and a speeding ticket 71/55 in California and he was still able to get hired. BTW: all of this occured within a two year period in his CMV immediately preceding his hire.

Hubby can't possibly have a record like this, could he?

    outerspacehillbilly Thanks this.

Did you ever start that thread? If so, could I get the link? How do you like Carter? I'd love to hear as much as possible.
