Joseph, you don't get it. You're seeing I'm not entitled to be in the fast lane because you can go faster than me, so I should risk injury or accident in the right lane because I'm not entitled to it. But, your truck is faster, so you are better than me and are entitled to it?

Look man, you need to understand, I'm not hanging out there to slow you down. When you come around to pass me, you don't get very far ahead. I see people like you do that all the time. I can see you about 1/2 to 1 mile down the road. It's not about courtesy, its about safety. I'm the most courteous person on the road, but you're expecting me to risk an accident to be courteous to you.

Courtesy is no different on being on a 2 lane highway in Texas and me pulling to the right lane so I can let 1-2 cars pass at a time when its clear. When I try to be courteous, I've had people make it unsafe by hanging next to me on this two lane highway when I'm trying to recenter in my lane.

I'm done debating this with you. I've laid it out, and you just don't get it. I get what you're saying, I get your frustration. But you you don't seem to care about my frustration, or how about me being COURTEOUS to other drivers entering the highway? THat's right Joseph, you talk about courtesy, but pick and choose. We all get frustrated, so just be frustrated and chill like the rest of us.

BTW, the mega carriers encourage the use of the middle lane, and guess what? Claims have declined. But what kind of statistics can a 1000+ fleet offer? I stand by "This is my lane. There are others like it. If you must go 10mph over - pick another. Or get your pilots license. ..

It's because you're in the center lane and not getting into accidents where the 'slow trucks' are colliding with merging traffic. Congrats. I would sincerely congratulate for the 1.5 million accident free miles. Having said that, there are 1 million milers out there that may be accident free, but they still tail gate or do foolish things and remain accident free by luck. I wish you would embrace being a little more safer and not getting upset at others when they want to be in the center lane. Not everyone is going to please you, not everyone is going to please me. You're making a big deal out of nothing.

When they "want" to be in the center lane. When they "want". Exactly. Over the years, especially since the economy went to crap, I've seen the "want" out here. The want to "do whatever I want, irregardless of how it affects my fellow drivers". The "middle lane syndrome" as I call it is a big deal. When you make people have to pass you on the right, you're creating a hazard. When you have people passing you on the left and right, that should be a signal that maybe you should move into the right lane.

Mebbe the megas understand that theres alot more trucks on the road during the prime times. Since they are the ones pushing the regulations, they also want to dictate operation procedures. Talk about a stacked deck...

So when you're doing 75 MPH in your big truck and someone passes you in the right lane, what does that mean? Your out of touch with reality. You've presented no valid argument with the facts and reasoning I've stated. The only thing I can tell, is you want to be in the middle lane, you don't care if there is traffic and everyone is doing 50 MPH, the speed limit is 65 MPH and dag nabit you're going to push around and pass all those inconsiderate drivers.

So you want me in the right lane and fighting merging traffic and accidents, because you don't care how it effects your fellow drivers. This is all because, you want to be in the center lane and pass everyone? Then, you say that if I'm in the middle lane that I'm inconsiderate for slowing you down?

I don't care if its Phoenix, El Paso, going from West Virginia and entering Tennessee, or going from I-40 heading down I-55 into Memphis, if the traffic is heavy its the center lane. And, if the traffic is heavy, you should be more worried about driving in a safe and prudent manner instead of trying to pass and save 3 minutes of drive time.

I get frustrated in the right lane, you get frustrated in the center lane. You see me in the center lane, you pass me in the right lane or left lane. Do you see where this is going driver? There is always going to be frustration, just deal with it. You don't have a winning argument, I've already debunked why I'm not impeding the flow of traffic. be safe out there.

The megas have done a fine job of destroying this industry by shoving e-logs, speed limiters, lower rates and an industry full of broke lease purchase steering wheel holders down our throats. Also a fine job of buying off politicians to get what they want. I've seen what goes on at these companies. Thinking is bad and is discouraged, they will tell you how to truck and most of these "drivers" are happy to have their hand held, and that includes the "me me me" attitude when it comes to the middle lane.

Joseph1135's argument: megas are the reason drivers are in the middle lane.

I've given you multiple points, but you ignore every one of them. All you keep saying is that I have a "me me me" mentality. You're a riot dude.

I hate it when someone doing over 10 mph passes to the right...throws off my traffic assessment.
