Yes, you can choose which length of lease you want. And no, none of them are walk-away leases. They technically can charge you every dime you agreed to pay under the lease if they want to, but three different people at SFI told me that typically they only charge the driver whatever it costs to put that truck back into a condition where it can be leased again. So if you take good care of it, you'll probably still pay some kind of penalty for walking away, but it likely won't destroy your career.

Unless you completely plan on buying the truck.. it would be smart to do a 1 year lease that way after a year you can walk away with nothing bad on your SFI record. Just remember that this lease does not do anything for your commercial credit so if you decide to buy from a dealer or something later then it will not help you. SFI says they will write a letter of recommendation but again its not on your credit history so that does nothing to get you a lower APR on a truck purchase just be aware of that.
Most people that get trucks here just don't have the cash to put on a down payment. Check out lone mountain truck leasing.. fair leases on good trucks and down payments are really low. I've had a few drivers I know that drive for SNI which swear by them. -
So sni doesn't report bad or good to your credit report? Not interested really in leasing just curious.

Still sitting here, not in a dock, not even remotely close to getting loaded. I'm getting frustrated as hell showing up to these customers and then waiting half a day before they even start loading me. Already called in to have one of my preassigned loads pulled off me because I won't have time to make it now.

just keep a diary of the days you spend out. Will help later instead of combing through a years worth of logs.merv85 Thanks this.

is that stove hot yet? 20 hrs last time wasnt it?

If you've got the down payment, Lone Mountain is by far the better option. Just make sure if you get a used truck, regardless from where, you get it fully checked out so there aren't any surprises later. But in general I've heard a lot of good things about Lone Mountain.

What were once vices, are now habits. The "Hunt the Empty" game is starting to get expensive.

When I drove with SNI as IC for that couple months.. dude all I did unless it was a small shipper or a shipper known to get drivers out fast.. I just took preloaded trailers and did drops as much as i could. Sometimes theyd pay little less than live loads but trust me.. it always paid off because I rarely had to sit around like you're doing.
