When activating the opti-idle for the night, do you leave the ignition key in the on position after the idle timer shuts the engine off?

Yep, so make sure you don't have a slow air lake or low air alarm will wake you up.Western Sky Thanks this.

Setting Opti-Idle mode, START TRUCK (Key in the "On Position), Gear in Neutral, Splitter in the High/Upper position, Tractor Brake engaged, Hood shut (Ya, there is a sensor that will disable the Opti-Ide if the hood is cracked open or raised), engage the cruise control button and Than engage your sleeper module to desired hot/cold temp and variance. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner !

Ummmm, I guess my newbieism is going to show. What is Opti-idle?

I didn't even realize the system was still around. On Detroit engines, instead of idling at low idle all night long, you'd set the thermostat, and engage the Opti-Idle ("Optimized Idle"). You could also set a tolerance level for temperature variation, then you'd leave the AC or heat controls in the on position. The truck would shut off, and, either when the temperature dropped or rose to the tolerance limit, or if the battery level got low enough, the engine would automatically start and run at high idle (about 1000 RPMs) until it heated/cooled down the cab to where it was set to be, or until the batteries had substantial charge (depending on the reason why it kicked on).

Minor correction: it's a "range selector" not a "splitter".....sorry, had to lol
