What's the difference between the 2? I'm behind. They stopped making my favorite, Galaxy 99.
-
One is by polar 2 transistors and the other one I believe uses 4 520 mosfets if I'm correct one makes 175 watts after tune the general makes around 120 after tune
-
The general with the tune frequency conversion and the rx done with shipping is like 355 and the cx with all that done is around 460
-
Everyone is doing Mosfets these days. But transistors are more relatable. For me, it's about being loud and proud.
Driveone Thanks this. -
Yea I know that's why it's hard to decide they both are loud and good radios the cx uses the Toshiba transistors I think they are better quality then mosfets but not sure not a tech just a buyer

I've got the connex..... And like it. But I'm no electronic guru...

How hot does the radio get during normal use daily
-
Don't know it's in a newer kw built into the headliner. So you can't just put on hand on it.
I did have trouble with the first one like 2 years after buying it.... The guy that I bought it from could not figure out what was wrong..... It would not transmit at all...
He got cranky that he couldn't fix it and reached up on the shelf and handed me a new one still in the box and said see ya ....
It gets used every day I work ( scale house and loaders) -
I'm quite partial to the Icom IC-7000. Probably a bit much for what you want to do, though. No echo or annoyance beep, either.
Bashnya Thanks this.
