awareness of accidents in this society
lack of professional drivers
blaming Elogs for bad driving habits is just wrong -
True,a professional would adjust his life, and driving to compensate.

elogs control the driver
the driver controls the paper
many eloggers have told me they are more tired than before
except on TTR, they think its the best thingpattyj, scottied67, stabob and 4 others Thank this. -
in other words, let the elogs control him and he makes adjustments to accomodate the computer
personal responsibility is put aside for compliance to political lawstoss009 and nshore harleyguy Thank this. -
Personal accountability is the issue here, not blaming the clock.
I have a goal, at least 500 miles a day. That's approximately 8 hours drive time. Once I hit that goal, the rest are bonus points. I know that I can drive at least that safely. If it's not a meat load, it can be rescheduled. If I'm tired, I'll pull over and take a nap, especially if I didn't have to waste a load of time at a shipper.
My attitude might be different since I'm not an L/O and don't have to run a full 70 every week but blaming the HOS for increased accidents... I'm not inclined to agree.Cranky Yankee, drvrtech77 and A21CAV Thank this. -

I think there should be different HOS rules for teams compared to solos as well... Go back to the 5&5... Or a set of hours for the TRUCK not the drivers... I know when I'm tired, but if my hubby has slept, but can't come out yet, I still have to drive (or park it) until he can come out... Either unsafe or a waste of time! Just my $0.02...
A21CAV Thanks this. -
Wrong...another example of "blame something or someone else"...gpsman, Cranky Yankee and O.Henry Thank this.

I will agree I was more tired sometimes on elogs
but what ever job I have worked since 1972
I had to work under the parameters I was given
blaming HOS for accidents is foolish
the person driving to fast for conditions always had a choicedrvrtech77, ironpony and gpsman Thank this.
