A person is MUCH better off being unemployed than to work for CR England. And no, that is not a joke, it's the truth.

Here's my take on CR England, for what it's worth...

CRE provides a solid opportunity to those who want to get their cdl and get started in the industry, as long as they are not being pushed into leasing. From my understanding, the lease program has been changed to require 6 months of experience (and a credit check, now?) before being approved. If that's the case, while I would not say that's entirely sufficient (2 years experience minimum would be my recommendation), it's certainly a step in the right direction and I applaud that effort.

During my time with CRE, I had nothing but good experiences with the office personnel, but that's not because things were always peaches & cream on the job. I was in the red for 6 months straight, without a single positive settlement because I was told I couldn't train due to the truck I had (which was a major flaw in the leasing program itself - requiring 2 drivers in a truck to make money).

Although my overall experience with the company was negative due to my circumstances, I cannot criticize the folks that work in the office... even my DM, who was at the receiving end of many of my stressed out rants. That said, I can certainly understand why the company keeps an armed guard around!

Frankly Patty, it's because the recruiters are too ###### good at their job, making this profession out to be easy money with plenty of home time and lots of opportunities right out the gate. While there are certainly opportunities to be had and money to be made, it requires work & sacrifice in order to achieve either.

New/prospective drivers are set up for failure by being sold a bill of goods and getting disappointed throughout the process after being carted hundreds/thousands of miles away from home on empty promises. Such promises that also attract lazy, unmotivated layabouts which quickly wash out after they see that trucking is not an easy money career.

Does that sound like one person wrote it?

It sounds like the 'office folks' had a meeting with those in advertising. The meeting most likely took all morning, drivers waited for dispatch, waited to get planned, waited on hold for hours, and had their qualcoms unanswered for the good folks a CRE to come up with that advertisement and an alias to post it here on TR.

Now enjoy your lunch CR 'office folk.' You are due back to work in two hours and we expect you to look busy before you leave at 3 o'clock.

How do you know crengland values their drivers?Have you spoken with any drivers?Have you drove with any drivers? You're like everyone else from the inside not seeing what happens on the outside.England probably gets a list of the drivers that quit every month, check that out then come back and tell us how fabulous England is.Take a gander at all the threads on this forum about your company.Surely all those drivers cant be wrong about the company can they?

My friends brother went through CRE after his first month his settlement consisted of a lease bill for his truck. When he called in and questioned the bill he shouldn't of received because he was a company driver. He was told No, we have a copy of your paperwork and it clearly shows you selected lease driver. To make a log story short, he went into office to look at the paperwork work they had, which had been changed.
Luckily, he saved his original copy. When he told them he would be meeting with his lawyer as soon as he left there, they changed their tune. They canceled the "lease" and training was no charge. This is all I needed to know about CRE!

From personal experience we had a lousy DM who would stop running us at 1100-1200 miles when we needed 1700 just to break even. Lousy fuel stops or none around when out in the middle of no-where and running low on fuel because we had been sitting 4 days in below zero weather waiting for our DM to get us out of there.
We ran till the very last possible moment each day of driving, no screwing around at truck stops...solid driving and always ontime, except when our DM would give us a load that was already lagte to be picked up and then would ding us with $100 charge instead of clearing it off of us due to another drivers failure to pick it up on time.
In 6 months we never made a dime, only when we contacted a financial person in office did things turn a little better but by then we had lost everything and the bills went to collections.
The facility in SLC was filthy, and Im talking nastier than a overflowing porta-john in the middle of August. Between bedbugs, smells of urine, and lice in bunks I didn't want my dog in there. The only good thing was my husband and I got to stay in local hotel.
The mechanics weren't overly concerned that our bunk heater didn't work since they weren't the ones in NYC freezing in it. Heaters, brakes, etc.
We had a 2011 Prostar and we were the 6th person to lease it. 6th! We started with CRE in September 2011! Tells ya a little how much y'all cared to help anyone succeed with this company.
The story we heard the most from long timers there was that when the old man ran the company they did care, but once the sons took over everything good went to pot.
All in all, it was a heart breaking experience and that is why I tell everyone that asks if they should go with CRE to RUN AS FAR AWAY AS THEY CAN! :yes2557:

Well everytime we tried to get a straight answer... wait we never did.
Bottom line they didn't care and don't as far as I know still.
If anyone is unlucky enough to NOT have read all the warnings about CRE and signed up with them, get out as soon as you can. Their turn over is unbelievable and the amount of people who have had their lives financially ruined working for nothing but more debt is astounding. Check out CRE complaints it is a website dedicated to all the horrible things that drivers for them have experienced.
I understand there are a lot of people in this world who want to make good money doing the bare minimal... but we were driving the entire 11 out of 14 hours, never turned down a load, always did the extra asked of us and still we never received a check just sank deeper in debt.
    So again, RUN AWAY!!!
