AMEN!...You'll be lucky if they don't take your fender and part of your hood in that in that same parking lot while they drag the tires off their wagon.

well the co. i run for has a bunch of differant trucks i just went back to them after 8 yrs. back then they only had about 15 trucks. since then they have been trying out differant trucks,peterbuilts/internat./sterlings/mack well now they are trying the volvos, well the have standard with standard but now are going compltely automatic with a clutch. junk the standard and auto, windows open from the top down no side vent window to get that just right breeze going. too much more to list, the co. has went from 15 trucks and one terminal to 6 terminals and over 200 trks. life too bad in the demo. world. pay has definatly mad a differance since the last time i was there. but me back then i was still lookin at the bright lights of the big city and worked my way out of the saddle and into a foreman position, hind sight is 20/20 just glad ta be back driving again

You beat me just because of the time difference on this fact...
Now let´s all thinkabout it..you got your banged in the head whatever HP rig... so at 1100rpm it produces around lets say 350... ok we gear it so that on the top gear it goes around 1100 # 55... now run it at 1200 and prolly 400hp) and you´ll have some margin for small hills to climb over without even steppin on it...
How´s that for a fuel saver...
FYI I have a friend with a 700hp V8 Scania... while loaded up to the hilt at 145+lbs we ran together to Norway.
I had a 420hp Volvo .. after 3hrs running we took a break and he had went out of the Horizon on the first big hill.
I told him I can´t keep up no matter how I step on it, he replied he hadn´t gone more down in gears than switching the splitter from top...
Yes I´m a gearhead and have a engine dyno in progress of being built.
Hopefully I´ll manage to pull my stunt and open a Garage specializing in all kinds of engine tuning.

One problem with US trucks is the cabins are not HazMat approved over here...
The other is that the max loads are less but thenagain them Aussies equip US trucks with the same axles Europeans do.
Also the Windows need to be safety glass allaround and them turning laws and inside cabin noise laws effectively puts a US truck out of the question... and nowadays the Euro4-5 norms for pollution.
there´s a Finnish brand , Sisu using C-15/18 engines, (used to have Cummins N11/N14´s too) RTO 18´s etc similar to US trucks and just recently C18 had to be dropped out because it didn´t meet emissions.
Trust me I´ve looked for every loophole possible to get one here as a OTR not a showtruck.
A COE might just be possible but not a brand new one.
Gear it properly and the difference will be there...
Fact is Cadillacs are built in Sweden too....or why does this Cadillac page open up in Swedish first ...
So IMO Cadillac ranks there right up with Saab as they´re built in the same factories.
And Saabs well they sure ain´t no top of the lines over here.

I stopped at the flying hook in Russelville, AR today cause there was a hand needing a mic. I had a spare Road King in the truck and made a heck of a deal on it for him. It was a pair of roostercruiser drivers and one of there old ladies on the back row stirring crap up. The one drivers mic just crapped out and he was cryin about not getting to stir it up too. Anyway while we were standin around shootin the bs, a younger driver in a freightshaker century tore ### through the parking lot, then made a flip and tore ### out. Boy they were on his ###. I bet he rowed through 8 gears on the back row. No need in that nonsence. Not from anyone, young hand or old. Then a Navaho driver tried to tear the gaurdrails off the scale trying to make a shortcut. I went inside to see if I could get my monthly dose of food poisoning and left out. Was mayhem in that parking lot.
Tooda-loo. -
Sounds like a lot of action. Maybe better than cable?? lol -
Was deffinately worth wasting my time for. Those Hurricane hands were good people too. The guys ol' lady was too funny. She had em stirred up more than anyone. Drivers were givin her their phone numbers and she was writin them down. Made me miss trashin around truck stops out of hours.
Only bad thing, something shorted out in the old Pete while leaving the parking lot. Not sure what yet. Guess I'll get it to the shop tomorrow. Guess you can't win every day right? -
I miss trashin around. When the go fast was good, the fuel price was down, and you didn't have to worry about the narcs. Oh yes, I used to be real TRASHY!
So what happened to your truck? Loss lights or omething...... -
Lost the motor. Goes down the road like your turnin the key on and off. Get a check engine and stop engine light. Check engine light seems shorted. Flickers dimly. I reset the computer and then it didn't want to start at all. Finally got it to start then ran for probably 3 or 4 miles fine then started again. Probably a sensor gone bad.
