I drove a CNG truck for a few months. Kind of wondered if I was always driving a rolling bomb....
hopefully that passenger pulls thru. -
Sheesh.. not sure if this is a better lesson for being aware of your surroundings, freight blocking and bracing, or what
-
I see lots of them, city trucks, with the tank stack on the back of the cab, like a small sleeper.
I'm not sure if anyone did the underslung tanks for CNG or not, the LNG tanks will be underneath when that is used.
Rolling bomb is a fair description, I'm surprised the passenger survived. -
I think it's Paper Transport I see in Wisc that has several of these Nat Gas trucks. I've always thought these are potentially really hazardous if involved in a wreck. No thanks
Marksteven Thanks this. -
my best guess is it was a forklift, what other heavy equipment is going to be in a van that could shift forward go thru the front of trailer then puncture the CNG tank?
-
I have seen more burnt to a crisp diesel trucks than exploded CNG trucks. Even allowing for the difference in numbers. Any truck can burn and maybe explode if you don't keep it upright on the road where it belongs and if you dont keep the cargo secure. I seen 3 burned up rigs in one day, a few weeks ago, a day or two after a storm. All where on the Ohio turnpike between Toledo and Cleveland.

Thats cause how many diesel trucks are on the road vs cng no thanks ill take my diesel thanks

They were going from one whse. To another, I will bet money
that tow motor was not secured at all. -
