Are there good miles for refer/dry van drivers. Sorry to ask so many questions just anxious to get started in a couple weeks and trying to figure what fleet to be in. Probably go with national otr refer/dry van but just curious.

Well my first load of the week is 1257 miles. And they gotta have me home by Friday. So what's your guess? Lol. You don't want for miles here. Be on good terms with your fleet manager and you will have more then you want.

Just asking but I thought it was reefer or van ? You can do both? I was thinking van to begin with to get use to driving before driving reefer because of the time sensitive loadsBig Will Thanks this.

This is a van driver. Actually I'm a van trainer. I'm retired from flatbed. Lol. Reefer sits alot. Van is mostly drop and hook. I liked flatbed. My back couldn't take it thou. I still enjoy van thou. Lots of wheel time.
Big Will, Redriderex and Red dog cliff Thank this. -
You can choose van but you may pull a reefer load if they can't find you anything else. Beats sittin.

It's van for me! I like it. Thanks. Can't wait to get started.

Do you get paid for sitting. I am guessing you are sitting waiting to be loaded or unloaded. I am just trying to figure out if I wanted to sign up for refer or just dry van only. Yanks for all the help.

I am a reefer driver sometimes you will get a bad receiver and have to wait but so do van drivers. Most places I am unloaded within two hours and some its just a drop and hook. I average between 2600-3000 miles a week. I am national usually stay out 3 weeks and go home for 4 days.
Dragonfly619, Big Will and Redriderex Thank this. -
This week I collected 16 hours layover for being dispatched to early on a load.Big Will Thanks this.
