This is why if possible you stock up on groceries before you leave the house. Last year i ate in a restaurant twice while out in the trk. I buy about a 100.00 worth of food for 2 weeks while out. Screw subway greedy $^&%$*&^.

Well I haven't measured my sandwich lately, but I can tell you that I view Subway as one of the most healthy meal options available to truckers, short of cooking in the truck. A few of the guys I work with and myself had a little contest (biggest loser) starting 1/1/14, and I have lost 25 pounds (as of 4/1/14), and I ate lots of Subway. I started at 182, and am currently 157.

I get one of the $5 footlongs, eat half for lunch and half for supper. You get your veggies, protein, as well as carbs. If you drink water, and skip the chips and cookies, you'll get 2 meals for less than $5.50 (in most areas).

I don't know where you guys are finding these non-English speaking cashiers and flies all over the place, but we run Oklahoma, Texas, and a little of the surrounding states, and I've never been in a Subway that didn't have English as the main language and wasn't clean. In fact, I view Subway as one of the cleanest places to eat. It stands to reason, since they don't fry food, they don't have that grease stuck to everything.

    Just my $0.02

Every Subway I've been to you pay after they make your sandwich, not before. And anytime you get extra meat or cheese, it cost extra.

I also agree, Subway is probably the healthiest place we can eat while on the road. I usually have plenty of food in my truck but there are times I am too lazy to make my own. I prefer Subway over any other fast food place, simply cause I can choose what I want on a sandwich. And the breakfast flatbread sandwiches are pretty darn good, I think.

Ray brings me home a foot long subway every now and then and give most to the dogs.Next time i'll ask him if he would go to Jimmy Johns.Too bad their were'nt many of those for truckers, they'd put subway out of business.
