If you don't like it go somewhere else? Money for shop time is better than sitting at home not getting paid....

Travel/shop is mostly dead time. You are overhead.

Trades off against your field rate. Higher bonus/lower dead time or mixtures of.

Ask ten guys who earn $100k and it'll be calculated ten different ways. Twenty maybe. Look at the end game not the details.

Well mr username it's like this, you have been trained to drive the truck and operate the equipment it hauls. YOU ARE NOT TRAINED AS A JOURNEY MAN MECHANIC. as such you're about as useful as a 1/2 Level apprentice. What you are useful for is very simple tasks like greasing trucks and deck equipment and other piddly stuff. 1/2 of 35 isn't bad for that. You're doing 2 different jobs with 2 different pay scales. You're not even close to doing a full licenced mechanics job, and you haven't invested $40,000 in tools. Suck it up they could just sit you at home for nothing til roadbans come off. H9w does 2 months of unpaid vacation every spring sound. No I'm not in management anywhere just another field level operator who gets it.

Hey ########. I'm a journeyman Welder and it's no harder than any of the trucking jobs I've had you big headed prick. Don't try to belittle me just because you're useless. It's Alberta we don't come for 16 bucks an hour and it isn't unreasonable to ask otherwise. My point being any good guy is worth the regular wage but obviously you disagree. Coming from both sides the I know one isn't harded than the other, hate it when tradesmen pretend to be special. I can be a frac sup for 200 g a year what's your response to that mr almighty? Don't know any mechanics who make that

Hey,I would really like that job. I have my class 1, a clean record and experience. I promise that I wouldn't complain.I'm in Mtl. A truck driver makes about 17-18 an hour here. I'm trying to get out there. it's anyone's right to complain why anybody cares to angrily respond is beyond me. Good luck with that whole thing and if there's a job out there for me, gimme the heads up. I'll only complain anonymously here on this forum.
