Must be a store. The stores have specific rules from corporate headquarters on exactly how each delivery must be made. Only the stores kinda chose which rules to enforce. Of the rules sign in, stay in reception area, and don't touch nothing especially dock and doors.
Costco DCs throughout US and Canada are handled like Cman301 describes:

It's possible that they literally hate their job and quite possibly life in general... Ever tried delivering on a military installation? Dress right dress, driver... Sir, Yes,
SIR!!! -
I want to say thanks to all you guys that deliver to Costco in general. It's our favorite place to shop and their produce is first class, always there on time and everyone at Costco, whichever one we go to is very friendly. I go to many of them out of state, and it's never different, they're all good. They're the main source for my food supply on my truck.
I just wish every company was like Costco to deal with. Their business model is first class. Another co I deal with and love is Amazon.
Every American based co worth his salt should follow the business principles of both these 2 companies.
But you guys that del to them, you're obviously doing a great job, so thanks and keep on truckin' -
They can be rude, but they're alwaysorganized. Seemed like I was at the Costco DC off international on a nearly monthly basis in SLC for about 6 months. Good miles out of it!

Sorry but Costco is one of the best out here! Don't know why you would complain about them.
-
I have never had a bad experience at Costco. They are a place I seek out to shop at because they treat drivers so well. Walmart can get bent.
-
Reverse the roles...would you want Costco coming it to your place of work(your truck)...and mucking around...punching buttons and pulling levers..I dont think you would

Costco in riverside, ca is easy. Check-in, back-in, light turns green, leave. Never have to even get out of the truck.
-
Wal-Mart has been doing that for about 15 years now.
