If they keep one good driver from making a mistake,I will raise the flag of victory! What I speak is the truth, with no sugar on top,its hard to take but the truth always wins.

I just cant fathom why so many people just sit there and take the rear end treatment and blast others who are standing up for what is right...its no wonder why a lot of these co's are doing what they're doing..
Chewey, passingthru69 and Cal Wally Thank this. -
Its the money, most of these guys would have never seen north of 70k. Thats what Bentonville is counting on. You take the money, getting your bottom kissed and all the over cooked brats you can eat and you be happy. Its really is like a bad pimp/ho relationship if you break it down. Thats why its H's down G's up.Last edited: Apr 6, 2014
Chewey Thanks this. -
And you all put up with the same crap or worse for less money.
-
Not really true anymore. Have you bothered to look around or do you just post without really knowing what your talking about. There are still some jobs that pay better, have better benefits and you may be treated better. I know a few guys that are making 90k with an outstanding benefit package, its union but thats were the money and benefits are. The old Walmart was worth leaving for,but now those guys and Im sure many others are sitting tight.
-
Cal Wally, how about some of the names of these companies that are paying more, more home time, and better benefits. Yes, we all know that union companies pay more, in some cases, and have better benefits, in some cases. But not in all cases. We have ex-union drivers working out of our DC and all say they would not put up with the union BS for a just a few thousand extra dollars. And quoting you, "Have you bothered to look around or do you just post without really knowing what your talking about". Show me one company that I can take off 17 weeks a year, not counting vacation, and make over $60,000 per year. I want to see actual facts not recruiter talk, hearsay, like you have a friend of a friend that works for a company, or CB talk. If those guys are happy at their union job then they should sit tight, and anybody else that is happy with what they got should stay where they are at. I hear many wal-mart drivers talk about how great they had it at their old company, but they never leave and go back. Driving for Walmart, as with any company, is a choice and if you don't like it then leave and let the other drivers have a peaceful day without hearing all of the whining of drivers that would not be happy no matter where they are at. Don't like the cell phone policy, move on, or work on getting it changed and stop whining to your fellow drivers when it will not do any good. Let's look at two FACTS, one, Walmart turnover of drivers is around 2.5 percent, not 98 percent like most companies, and, two, Walmart is hiring at most DC's in the Midwest and have an excess of applications to pick from. Walmart is so terrible of a please to work that 90 percent of the drivers stay until they get fired or old enough to retire. I'm happy where I'm at and I'm staying put.

First off could you structure your posts so their a little easier to read. Second just like I told the other big shot,do your own homework. If you dont like my information, dont read my posts and whats a CB,wait your a super trucker. Got it! Im glad your happy guy and glad you know whats out there, most of us do. I came from a union job so I know of what I speak. I also never mentioned 17 weeks off,and Im always very careful to never say all when I make comparisons.
Just looking at master freight and grocery jobs 60k is chump change,60k with 17 weeks off is just a chump with alot of time to himself, get my point? That 17 weeks is nice but some guys might be happier with 90k,full health and welfare, full pension, home every night and 6 weeks off. I just want to be sure they know its out there, also some guys might have second thoughts before leaving a good job for this job. You wont win if your trying to compare compensation packages. There are really good jobs out there and drivers need to look at those jobs before they come here. Time off is very nice but 10k or so into a retirement plan would be nice to.
Listen I never said it was not a good job,its not the same job that some of us came here for. You may be all ga,ga over your situation and Im sure the mega fleet guys are really impressed. Like I said before, some guys get it and some dont you obviously dont. Let me guess Walmart was a big step up for you right, you like being watched and baby sat for that 60k and all that time off. Your the picture of the new Walmart and Bentonville is counting on you to spread the BS.
Again Im not whining,Im telling the truth about what this job has become and if I can keep one guy from making a mistake Im happy. Im not focusing on mega fleet guys,Im talking to guys that are in a better position but think the new Walmart might be a nice place to finish their time. Thats how alot of us ended up here but you know that right?
I will stay put here but I wont be telling anyone else to come on over like I used to. And check back in a few years and let me know where the turnover rate is. Also if your good with the drivers they have screwed over then your a good fit for the new Walmart and I owe you zero respect. And change may come, have you seen my CA lawsuit thred, wait I bet your one of those that likes doing things for free. So new school how much will you do for some dried out burgers and chicken, some of us would love to know.Last edited: Apr 8, 2014

I've said it before. Some upstart middle manager type will build his or her career offf cutting labor costs in the "private fleet".
Few companies stay at the top of the best places to drive list.......Cal Wally, mike5511, Chewey and 1 other person Thank this. -
You make a great point sir. Do you know that there are Walmart safety guys as well as other associates that will ice a driver just to score suck up points? With the new Walmart the driver is guilty until proven innocent. Its true, ask the big shots that think they are safe and secure. When I think of some of these sucks I really wish I could put my own ad on sirius.
