When I applied for CDL back in 2008, I had a speeding ticket I while riding my motor cycle... it was for 10 over... had no trouble getting into school to get my CDL... but did have trouble with getting hired by companies... I got the ticket in 2008 before going to CDLschool and getting my CDL.

I got a 55 in a 35 in CA two days before I started orientation with my first company I also got a ticket for no lights at night(I had my running lights on and was just about to flip on the headlights, pulling out of a parking lot) both in my personal vehicle. Every company I ever talked to says it's no big. DUI's felonies, seatbelt tickets seem to be the major show stoppers.

That would suck to go to school and spend the money and not get hired. -

Got a 98 in a 70 on I-10 in Florida just last summer. Had my CDL for 3 years but never got a job. A company recruieted me and lobbied their inusrance company to cover me. I cannot get another moving violation for 1 year starting 1-17-14 or they will drop me. No experience was the bigger issue than the ticket was.
I rented a sports car while I was working on a construction job in Jacksonville, was traveling ot Pensacola ot visit my daughter who was stationed there.dennisroc Thanks this. -
I got a 16 over just before I got my cdl. It makes it a little more difficult to find a good job but If you look hard enough you will find a good company to hire you

Never seen no reason to speed like these numbers. I go no more than 7-8 over. Set my cruise control and let it go. Ive gone through so many speed traps on Ohio roads. Ive got over 250k miles logged in the 5 years with my company and not one moving violation. I just seen no reason for it, but to each their own.

He said anything over 15 mph is a major moving violation and if one of their drivers got a ticket for 15 mph over they would be fired.
Also said most mid size to large companies are all that way. -
Find a small company. Trust me you will find a job if you look hard enough
