Yep. That's a fun place to get to in the winter. That the terminal you run out of?
-
Yeah. Cool place so far. No complaints yet anyway.
-
They do a good job at that terminal. I like the fact that outbound tanks get run through the shop before loading. High Point does that on the inbound side. Only 2 terminals with check lines that I have seen.
-
do they still have the signs to look out for bears at the lower end towards the woods......
-
I don't know how I have managed to avoid that terminal, but in two years I have yet to go there.

Well if this tells anyone (potential prospects) anything about Superior, I just turned down a high paying local job to stay at Superior. The 5pm-5am schedule was the deal breaker for me. The grass is not always greener on the other side.
Don't get me wrong, I love Superior and was not really looking to quit. But I had a company call me in for an interview after putting in an application. I figured I would check it out. The guy wanted to hire me but I decided to stay put. -
Gas hauling job?
-
Yep. Good company too. Problem is they have a bunch of drivers that have been there forever because it is a good company so it would have been at least 2 years before I could possibly see a day position come open. I would be at the bottom of the ladder. Plus the guy told me during the holidays it was hard to get off because they are super busy at Thanksgiving and Christmas with people traveling. The other thing was I would have two days off a week but it was Monday and Tuesday. Not the weekend.
That is one thing I can say about Superior. They have always gotten me home for the holidays and anytime I need off for anything else or just some home time they always get me home. When I am off it is always on the weekends. -
Yeah quality of life is important. I have never been too enamored with the home every night gig. They are all 12 hour schedules that leave little time for much more than sleep. I would be grumpy, fighting with my wife and actually have less time to do stuff around the house. I actually liked being out 7-14 days better than this dedicated I am on now. The home time was 4-5 days after a California run. You didn't feel bad taking it because you knew big miles were ahead.
