2006 will be a CM870. No filter on those. Just the blow by tube that goes from the top front cover down to around the starter.

This crankcase filter thing is not only something that the newer diesels need. Due to the many issues that plague the GM small blocks nowadays, many of us are putting Oil separator units in the PCV line of our gasser engines. Unbelievable the amount of condensation, oil, and junk goes thru the PCV line to the intake. In 10,000 miles, my PCV catch can has captured about half a quart of that junk in my 5.3L small block. One can only imagine the amount of oil that gets caught up in the closed crankcase system on these newer heavy diesels.
