Im definatly happy with the place so far. Plenty of work and real fair pay. Good luck with the new career, the first year money was really tight for me. But now Im doing better than I did after 13 years as a glass installer. Where are you going to school?

Bout time for an update I recon. Things are still running good! They keep me moving for sure. 2700 miles last week, 3200 the week before. Last two weeks Ive taken a load from Marlow Ok to Denver that delivered on saturday. Which didnt get me home till sunday, so Ive been off for a restart the last two mondays. Still wish the would fix my old Classic and put me back in it, but Im in another truck still making money so I havent got much to gripe about. And as the weather gets nicer, the job gets easier!

Nice. My normal truck is still at freightliner. So I been driving this loaner. Not too bad of a truck honestly. Hopefully my truck has all the bugs out of it when it gets back from the dealer. Miss my truck. This loaner is exactly the same truck but it's not MY truck so it's different. New dispatcher is doing a pretty good job so far of keeping me moving. I had to set him straight when he first took over on what I expected out of him. So far he's doing pretty well. Hopefully he keeps it up.

Just wondering- what do you other drivers run your pto at? What rpm? Does it depend on the product? I've been told everything from 800-1000. I looked up the roper pumps online and it says the max rpm is 950 for our style pumps.
Normally I've found between 850-950 is normally good. On the thicker products like molasses I run it at about 900 to get it started since it's so thick and will bump it up to 950 toward the end.
The really thin liquid like c2000 I'll run at 800 since it seems to pump better at lower rpm for some reason. Maybe I'm just imagining things.
So what's your "go to" rpm?
Also does it change depending on which hose your using, 3" vs 2"?
Is there a "optimum" rpm to use?
