Ok, decision time, finally. I have applied to and have been accepted by each of these companies. They all have called and wanted to schedule me for orientation, just not sure which one to commit to. I'm kinda leaning toward just because I have a good friend of mine that is a fleet manager there and could take care of me on the road and in getting me home. But I'm open to these others as well. Roehl won't look at me unless I go through school all over again, which is absolutely not gonna happen. And have apps out to Averitt and Conway as well. Any advice is appreciated as always!

Yea, I've been reading alot on that forum and it's been helpful, none of these companies seen have bad things said about them, for the most part it's been pretty good. TMC Durant sounds bad at all, I just am not sure about the flatbed part of it. Since I sent through maverick and they told me they didn't think flatbed was the right fit me, it kinda got in my head.

I have 2 friends that pull for TMC. Over last 18 months they both agree freight has slowed. They still do ok, but they are noticing lower paying loads with more wait time between. I have heard Melton is a pretty good gig and I think they take recent grads. Good luck to you which ever way you decide.

I called Melton, They won't take refreshers for whatever reason, so they would require school again or more recent experience. I've conflicting things on TMC, some say that freight has slowed a bit and others say they are doing great, esp with the percentage pay.

Since you're not fond of faltbed:

    Millis - first choice

I work for Millis and as a student hands down the best choice we do not push students thru training. Schools will give you a good balance of classroom, driving range and on the road time before being put with a trainer. Time with trainer at last check is at least 15,000 miles and you are tested out by your state not signed of by the company like alot of others. Millis still a family company that treats drivers well with good pay, benefits, equipment and hometime. We have miles alot of drop and hook and not the Company BS others have. I wish I had started with them 13 years ago but was taken in by a company that made promises that were lies. Any questions just message me and I wish you the best with which ever choice you make

Keep in mind that Millis' school doesn't get you Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples endorsements, if that's important to you.
