That my be the case on your truck, but on ours, you need a camera that the SWAT team uses to see into the tank. Fueling can sometimes be a challenge! Who ever came up with the Idea to put the tanks where they are now and it's angle should be taken out back and had strange things done to them. And besides, I don't fall below a quarter tank! well I did twice. one for experiment to see how far I could take it and the other for better fuel prices in CA. Not giving up a chance to get 3.83 in CA. Have I ran out of Fuel, Sure, falls under #### happens!

I had a similar issue with 2 EE61 codes and both the check engine light and the amber engine light. ...I reported it and was told to take it to freightliner. When I got to Dallas Freightliner, it was going to be about 6 days out for them to get me in for repairs, beyond any express diagnosis. ..so breakdown decided to tell me to stop buying bulk def, and fill my def tank with the boxed def...to see if it would clear the problrm,. As skeptical as I was, I tried it anyway, without any success. So I hot myself routed yo the terminal 2 weeks later, got my pm and my apu fixed (busted ground wire inside the housing), and was told my truck would have to go to freightliner for dpf cleaning. Since I was n under a load going to Ohio, the planner and shop discussed it, and decided to give me back my truck, have me make my Ohio run, and have me return afterwards. After delivering in Ohio, I got a load that delivered in Duncan, OK. I made the delivery, then deadheaded back to the terminal. I took my truck to Tulsa Freightliner and got a motel room for the night (dpf cleaning takes 15 hrs once the filter is in the oven). I got my truck the following afternoon, and all is well now. The shop and breakdown swear that we should not use bulk def, but that's all I've run in this truck for the past 2 years (except for the 2 weeks before the dpf cleaning). I've personally put over 300k miles on this truck and have never had an engine derate issue, or had to do a manual regen, and this is the 1st time the dpf has been cleaned.

Sounds about right for Dallas. They held my first truck hostage and didn't finish the job! well the boys on Irving blvd did anyway. Made me mad as all get go, but at least I got a better truck out of the deal.

If you follow/backtrack that airline it will lead you to the solenoid....

The borg warner fan clutch uses air to release not engage. Therefore removing the air line will only prove I know how to use a wrench.
I was just half hoping someone knew where freightliner hid the solenoid to save some time.[/QUOTE] -
Im about to get dressed and hunt that elusive little mother down. Guess I get to look like a flatbedder today.
Ok I found the fan solenoid. Its on the firewall between the brake valve assembly and the engine tunnel.
Simply following the hose isnt that easy. Freightliner has the hose covered with the same split loom as everything else. Then they snake it around and into bundles of wiring and hoses so you'd have to cut a bunch of cable ties to isolate it. The pic helped though. Its the same part as the s60 unit you posted.
T/S is done. The solenoid is bad. Its getting power and ground but not opening.Last edited: Apr 13, 2014
wonderdog24 Thanks this. -
Sitting at the TA in Barstow. Trailer needs three tires. I noticed the one that was wore down to 1/32 and the another one that is beginning to fall apart. The tech found the third bad tire. The bad part of the third tire was on the ground while the bad part of the one I found was in view.

Did you pickup in Colton this morning?
-
Nope. Picked up at Tyson in Amarillo. I knew that the worn out tire was low on tread. Ran that one as far as I could. I noticed the falling apart tire when I stopped for my reefer check at the first rest area after crossing into California. Took the gamble to run on that to get here. Really didn't want to have to wait for road service.

Well, make that two tires replaced. Breakdown didn't approve the worn out tire. It is barely 3/32 according to a tread depth gauge. That tire ain't going to last much longer. It looks worn out to the naked eye. Oh well. Even the shop manager recommended to them to replace. It won't be long before they will have no choice.
